A healthy body is a fed body.

Proteins feed the body only if

Vitamins feed the body only if

Minerals feed the body only if

…the bloodstream absorbs them.

Feed your body.

Absorb.

We have a Pink Bear Tip (consejo) for you today. It is basic. A healthy body is a fed body. Feed your body so it will absorb.

This tip boils down to this basic advice. Eat foods that sustain your gut’s ability to pass nutrients through it to your bloodstream and on to your cells.

A body that is fed the nutrients it needs can transport the molecules of protein, vitamins and minerals through the gut’s outer wall to be absorbed into the bloodstream. Once in the bloodstream these nutrients are available for delivery to the cells throughout the body that need them for continued life and vitality.

A healthy gut can work efficiently, extracting nutrients from the food we eat, absorbing them through the gut wall and transporting them into the bloodstream so the body can use them to sustain life in a state of health and vitality.

Avoid and Embrace

How do we eat to keep the gut working efficiently for our health? That can be summed up in two words, avoid and embrace. Avoid poor foods and embrace good, health supporting foods.

The foods we eat have an important impact on gut health. The types of food we eat correlate to how well the gut responds to disease inducing agents. Gut health is compromised when we eat diets consisting of little or no fiber and which consist largely of processed foods, meats and sugars.

Diets composed of low fiber and large amounts of processed food, sugars and meat can irritate the intestinal tract, lending it to inflammation and exposing it to increasing numbers of harmful bacterias.

Here is the key. A diet high in fiber, essential vitamins, minerals, nutrients and healthy fats can effectively feed your body it’s nutritional needs by supporting and sustaining healthy nutrient absorption through the gut. Diets high in organic plant foods feed the gut’s good bacteria and effectively keep the digestive tract cleansed and detoxified. Organic, whole foods nourish the gut flora and strengthen its defenses.

The good foods you want to maintain in your diet for this important gut health are organic, non-processed fruits and vegetables, organic vegetable juices, organic whole grains and legumes, organic nuts and organic seeds.

One good, external sign that the inside of your gut is operating in good health is regular bowel movements.
