Is it good, for goodness sake?

“Mmm! That was good. So it tasted good, but was it GOOD?”

That seems to be good food for thought.

Do you ever find yourself asking the question, “Why did I just eat that?”

After eating something that tasted great you feel content and maybe even feel happy about it for awhile. After some time passes you suddenly question the validity of what you just did.

“Did I really eat that? Why?”

Just what exactly are we eating? It may taste good, but is it really food? If we are honest with ourselves we’d have to admit, much of what we eat really isn’t food. In reality it is some concoction people have put together and called food.

Chip. Cookie. Pie. Soft Drink. Candy Bar. Lollipop. – Do any of these grow from soil?

No, not really.

This is an interesting fact. To many of us, fruits and vegetables simply do not taste good. We have no craving for them. However, have you ever tried to stop eating sweets? Most people find after cutting sweets from their diet that in a short time fruits and vegetables begin to take on a desirable taste. To many this comes as a surprise when it does occur.

The simple truth is our bodies were designed to eat the food that grows from the earth. If we stop filling our mouths with fake food, we’ll find we actually do like what grows naturally.

We encourage you to give it a try. Cut the sweets and make the switch to real food. After your tongue acquires a taste for the good stuff, keep finger foods ready for those times when you get that urge to fall back into the old habit of grabbing a quick sugar fix. Carrots and dried apricots or nuts and dates can do well in a pinch.

Do it! Make the switch. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.
