Fritz’s Railroad Restaurant, of Kansas City, Kansas, has been chugging along in business since 1954. Fritz’s serves hamburgers, fries, and hot dogs. Nothng unique about that, right? Well, not so fast. Fritz’s mode of delivering their meals to its customers does make this establishment stand out; a delivery method that is unique fun for people of all ages, kids, parents and grandparents alike.

If you had the opportunity to eat at Fritz’s I’m sure you’d chime right in with the choo choos.
At Fritz’s Railroad Restaurant orders are placed via an intercom, phone system. Then as customers await the preparation of their meals, suddenly a toy train comes rolling around on a railroad track, arriving with the special delivery… hamburger and fries warmly wrapped along with a favorite soft drink. A mechanical arm stops the order at a platform above the customers’ tables. The platform is lowered down toward the table to deliver the food.
Trains are loud. We all know that and this one is no exception, especially given the environment of beng “inside” a restaurant. It may be noisy, train whistles and all, but it is a unique atmosphere and their customers just eat it up.

When you hear the train approaching your table you may be saying, “Choo! Choo!”, but after unwrapping and biting into your juicy meal you’ll be saying, “Chew! Chew!” and “Yum! Yu-u-u-mm!”
